School Board approves new staff hires, last day of class

There will be additional staff at the Reedsburg School District starting next year.

On Monday night, the Board of Education unanimously agreed to look into adding interventionists, physical education staff and an instructional coach at the middle school. The exact number of positions created and costs are yet to be determined.

On Monday, April 12th, Weston Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members attended the virtual FBLA State Leadership Conference. Members spent the day in interactive workshops, listening to keynote speakers, with the day concluding in results from the state competitive events.

Weston students hold own version of March Madness

It was more about books instead of basketballs last month at Weston Elementary School.

Ms. Deaver’s class held a March Madness book bracket with the sport’s theme. At the start of the month, the children had the chance to preview 16 books and guess which ones would make it to the finals.

Weston students crowned chess victors

For the past 21 years, Lyle Lindholm, Weston's high school math teacher, has hosted a chess tournament for any willing participants. Held during lunch hours, the competition began in February and ended with the championship match being held on March 19. The tournament wass double elimination so everyone got to play at least two games.

Reedsburg School District employee wins administrator award

A member of the leadership team at the Reedsburg School District was recognized by Wisconsin Title 1 Association.

Linda Bruun, director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, won the Outstanding Administrator Award.

RAHS Drama Club presents Mystery Radio Theater at CAL Center

The RAHS Drama Club takes a step back in time this spring.

The focus is on the 1940’s with Mystery Radio Theater the theme as three separate plays will be presented April 16-18 at the CAL Center.

Weston staff have more opportunities to get physical activity

Weston School District students have been having virtual classes on Wednesday. Starting in January, Elementary Physical Education Teacher Tanner Havens organized staff Wellness Wednesdays. Employees have the opportunity to get some physical activity for 20 minutes around lunchtime. The program is optional and based on personal goals.

Therapy dog joins Reedsburg Area High School team

There’s a new four-legged presence at Reedsburg Area High School.

Therapy dog Willow is now available to comfort students. The sheepadoodle is under the supervision of School Counselor Abby Imhoff.

Willow is hypo-allergenic and does not shed. She has taken multiple obedience classes and has special therapy dog training.
