Merrimac students shine in Youth Conservation Poster Contest

Area kids represented schools well in this year’s Sauk County Youth Conservation Poster Contest. This year’s theme was Home is Where the Habitat is. Children have the opportunity to create and submit posters that highlight the importance of nature and resources in the county. Top finishers are selected in each grade category. Sauk Prairie School District had two finishers—including a 1st place winner—from Merrimac Community School. In the grades 2-3 category, Maisie Posthuma (top), placed first, and Brigum Riha (above) placed fourth.
