The cardinals and the titmice are singing their spring songs and soon the bluebirds and the song sparrows will be back. The squirrels are feasting on the maple sap that has begun to run and some tree buds are already swelling.

Rennetta M. Freel, age 89 of Spring Green, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on July 24, 1936 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Fred and Clara “Nan” (Gable) De Rose. She was married to Gerald Freel on November 28, 1953.
