It was a 2-2 draw Friday night as the Badger Lightning girls hockey team squared off with the Stoughton Icebergs in a Badger Conference matchup at Sauk-Prairie’s home rink. The Lightning sits at 1-3-1 overall with four of the five games decided by two goals or less.
Ithaca/Weston wrapped up the pre-Christmas portion of their girls hoops schedule in this, the first year of the varsity level co-op, with a Ridge and Valley loss at Ithaca last week, 74-39, against Wauzeka. The visitors took control early and built a 44-20 halftime lead and cruised to the win.

After several weeks of training, the Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts will have their first competition of the season this week. Coach Ali Schuenke, who returns to head up the program along with Brenna Lutter, talks about the long-lead-in prior to this week’s first meet.
Wins in five of the first seven games is how the season has begun for River Valley Blackhawks girls basketball after a 61-47 win on Monday night this week at Ithaca/Weston.
Reedsburg was to play two girls basketball games last week but a Tuesday trip to Fort Atkinson was changed to this Thursday due to inclement weather so last week’s only game was at Mauston, and it turned out to be a Friday night loss against the Golden Eagles, 48-37.
It ended up being a quiet week with just one game for the Badger Lightning girls hockey skaters after a conference game at Beaver Dam was postponed on Tuesday night.
The gymnastics season is underway for the River Valley Blackhawks as the girls were in action at Saturday’s West Salem Invite to kick off the competition season.
Reedsburg’s girls wrestling squad is 2-0 to start their first ever conference dual meet season after a 28-20 win at Mount Horeb on Friday with wins recorded by Chloe Roloff via pinfall and from Kaylee Petersen with a 15-5 major decision to go along with three forfeit wins.
