River Valley hosted its first gymnastics meet of the season on Saturday, the seven-team River Valley Invite. R-V placed sixth in team scoring with a mark of 107.825 with Dodgeville at 138.7 easily winning the team title over runner-up Southwestern.

Last week was one to build upon for the River Valley Blackhawks boys basketball team, registering three wins in a span of four days, and one of them was a revenge game against the arch-rival Richland Center Hornets.

It was a rarity last week for Coach Joe Woodhouse and the River Valley Blackhawks girls basketball squad at this time of year, a one game week. The only action was a league game against SWC contender Platteville, on the road, and the result was a 74-51 loss with the Blackhawks slipping to 4-3 in the SWC and 11-7 overall.

Reedsburg drops down to D-2 for the high school post-season on the wrestling mat and will be part of a very strong Sectional field but last week, the Beavers faced a good D-1 program in the final dual meet of the season, at Verona.

For the second time this season, the Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts topped the 125-point mark in a meet last Tuesday in Baraboo in a dual meet with the Thunderbirds. Baraboo scored 131.825 team points compared to 125.375 for the Beavers.
