Reedsburg’s first ever WIAA Girls State Wrestling Tournament competitor was in action this past Thursday and Friday at the Kohl Center in Madison. RAHS junior Chloe Roloff was in the field at 114 pounds after qualifying with a second-place finish in the Sectional at Stevens Point, making history with her two matches in Madison.
Reedsburg lost a pair of close games vs. Stoughton in the Badger Small Girls Basketball season and the two squads met again in the WIAA Tournament opener for both teams last Tuesday at Stoughton High School.
The Beavers took a two-game win streak into Stoughton last week and after a signature win over Sauk-Prairie, Reedsburg’s high school boys basketball team had some real momentum. That momentum did not carry over, however, as the Beavers fell 65-46 to the Stoughton Vikings in the regular season and conference finale.
The Beaver boys wrestlers traveled to Lodi Saturday for WIAA D-2 Team Sectional Wrestling with Reedsburg facing Belmont/Platteville in an opening round dual. Belmont/Platteville was third in team scoring and Reedsburg sixth the previous Saturday at the Individual Sectional at Richland Center, leading to the opening round matchup.
For the second time this season, the Weston Silver Eagles boys basketball squad earned a victory against Coulee Christian with Weston posting a 64-49 win on the road last Tuesday. Weston built a halftime lead and hung on for win number four on the season with Isaac Jennings erupting for 28 points with Trevor Westphal adding 12 more.

It was an entertaining game between two quality teams last Tuesday on the ice as the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston boys hockey co-op made the trip to the Madison area to face off with Middleton in the opening round of the WIAA Tournament series in D-1, Sectional 3.
River Valley gave it their all on Friday night but suffered a heartbreaking last second loss to Platteville, 67-66, in SWC Boys Basketball play in Spring Green.
The RAHS Cheer Team participated in its first competition recently. The WACPC Gameday Small Division placed ninth out of 24 teams qualifying for the State Meet this past Saturday at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
