Locals are among the 481 incoming freshmen to receive scholarships from the University of Wisconsin-Eau-Claire

UW-Eau Claire just announced that it awarded 694 scholarships to first-year students. Amounts varied.

Reedsburg’s Edward Jones Financial Advisor recently donated $1,000 to the Reedsburg School District to provide new water bottles for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Due to COVID-19, schools have gone to touchless bottle filling stations instead of traditional fountains.

The La Valle American Legion will serve a chicken dinner on Oct. 3.

Food will be available via carryouts only from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the legion.

Meals will cost $12 and include a half a chicken, potato salad, applesauce and a cookie.

Viking Village Foods’ Harvest Fest will take place Oct. 2 through 4.

It kicks off with the one-say seafood sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

For its October meetings, Toastmasters will again stick to an online format.

It’s Child Passenger Safety Week, and Reedsburg Area Medical Center is taking the opportunity to inform the public of how to properly secure children.

The Sauk County Institute of Leadership has wrapped up its 2020 session, and acknowledged to women in the process.

This year’s award winners are Beverly Vaillancourt of La Valle and Kristin White Eagle of Baraboo.

The Sauk County Board gave the go-ahead for more updated rules and some additional prosecutor jobs with the District Attorney Office.
