The World Health Organization has named 2020 the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife in honor of the 200th birthday of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center is taking the opportunity to share its own stories of how local nurses and midwives make a difference.

Hydrant flushing, water main maintenance underway

Reedsburg residents will see Utility workers flushing hydrants and working on water mains in October.

Flushing is necessary to ensure adequate water flow and pressure. It also removes sediment from the pipes, which maintains water clarity and quality.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
