So far, it's been cool for May, but I'm not complaining. I have read that a super strong El Nino current is likely to make this one of the hottest years ever. Last year was the hottest year so far, and it was buggy and smoky and wickedly hot. Not a year for sitting in the yard sipping lemonade!
This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, which is celebrated each year during the first full week of May. This week of celebration is our chance to say thank you to those that play or have played such a huge role in our lives. Who doesn’t have a fond memory of a teacher who inspired them in some way?
It’s a rather sad process that seems in search of new ways to stratify people. It’s not bad enough we have skin colors and other genetic variances detracting from commonality,. Then, we as humanoids add societal naming standards, adding absolutely no value to the big picture what-so-ever.
Over the last 50 years, I have had some wonderful adventures in the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area. It is a precious patch of wilderness here in the Midwest. My husband and I first visited Quetico, on the Canadian side of the Boundary Waters more than 50 years ago.
I'm not sure what this war with Iran is accomplishing but the one thing I do know is this. U.S. oil companies are profiting billions on the backs of American households. The U.S. military-industrial complex is set to profit hundreds of billions of dollars in new government contracts.
