It is called “pulmonary rehab,” but I have been known to call it “pulmonary purgatory.” But please don't tell the kind and smiling angels who work there! They do their jobs extremely well. The idea is to help people who have respiratory difficulties by strengthening their muscles, since stronger muscles require less oxygen to function well.
