Causes of death in 1632 London included fever, age, and the somewhat cryptic “Teeth,” which claimed a staggering 470 lives that year. Six people were found dead in the streets and starved. One person died after being bitten by a mad dog. Another died, somewhat understandably, from being “Affrighted.” Another passed away from vomiting.
