Naturally Speaking: Locked antlers


The standing buck is now free from the dead deer after a one side of the dead deer's antlers was shot off. He remained for a few minutes, continuing to fight with the dead deer. (Submitted photo)

Antlered bucks locking antlers is a frequent occurrence during deer mating seasons when fights break out.

Unless the deer are mechanically separated, both will likely die.
