As soon as the leaves change colors, drop and begin decomposing, giving us a fragrant autumn smell, we begin searching for something green, seeming never to exhaust our love of chlorophyll-laden botanicals.
While most would search high on the hilltops and bluffs, polypodium grows in damp, sandy places on or near rocks.
