Remember when sporting events were a fun outing for everyone? Players played, fans cheered, announcers announced.

Now it seems even our favorite pastimes aren’t immune to politics and the Internet controversy of the day.

We are suffering an extreme shortage of snakes. If you don't fancy snakes, this may not disturb you. But like them or not, snakes are an important part of our natural community, eating a lot of creatures that plague us, like mice and rats and insects that damage our crops.
