Reedsburg’s Concerts in the Park begin

Reedsburg’s Concerts in the Park series begins next week for the season.

The first show will take place at 6:30 p.m. June 10 at Reedsburg City Park.

Ladies Must Swing will be the featured entertainer. The group will do a salute to veterans, playing jazz and classic swing of the Big Band era.

Food will be sold.

Family launches new chapter of Farmer Angel Network

An organization created in Sauk County is expanding once again.

The Reichling family announced that it will launch the southwest Wisconsin chapter of the Farmer Angel Network.

They decided to open the chapter to honor Myles Reichling of Mineral Point. He died by suicide at the age of 24 in February 2018.

The Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s next Business after Five will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. June 9 at Vierbicher Associates in Reedsburg, 201 E. Main St., Suite 100.

Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.

Pioneer Log Village opens for season


The Pioneer Log Village in Reedsburg is open for the summer. Tours will be offered on Saturdays now through Labor Day. The grounds feature a period-accurate village, which includes a school house and church. (Independent Star News file photo)

The Pioneer Log Village in Reedsburg has opened for the summer season.

It will be open Saturdays now through Labor Day. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person for ages 4 and older. Younger children get in for free. Only cash or checks will be accepted on site; no cards.

Loganville church holds 150th anniversary brunch

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Loganville will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a special service and brunch on June 7.

Service is at 9 a.m., and a fellowship brunch will follow. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass. Past pastors will be there to chat about their experiences and history of the church.
