Obituary: Mary Rae (Mayer) Ison

Mary Rae (Mayer) Ison, age 67, of Reedsburg, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, while peacefully asleep at home with her family.

Mary was born April 8, 1954 at St. Luke’s Hospital Milwaukee, WI to the late Gerald J. and Myra (Jacobi) Mayer. Mary was united in marriage on November 17, 1970 to Matthew Ison Sr. at Four Corners Assembly of God Church near White Lake WI. She worked as a CNA at Snyder Nursing Home, Grede Foundries & Kwik-Trip in Reedsburg. She enjoyed being with her friends and family, along with gardening and caring for her flowers.

In addition to her husband Matt; she is survived by her son Matthew (Kimberly) Ison Jr. of Edgerton; her daughter Terry Cain of Reedsburg; grandchildren: Tierney, Garrett, Ella, Sydney and Sarah; and her two sisters Lori (Ronald) Gorsche of Palmira, WI, and Elizabeth Jean Mayer of Franklin, WI; along with other relatives and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held for Mary on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 3:00 pm, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Chaplain Mike Amberg of SSM Health and Hospice will officiate. Visitation will also be on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
