Obituary: Nancy Conlin
Nancy’s free spirit crossed over to the spiritual world on the morning of October 24th, 2021, after a short illness. Nancy had just started a new journey in her life moving up to the family’s beloved cabin in the north woods. She was looking forward to becoming one with Mother Nature and a caretaker of the land. Many of her friends had already started booking weekends to spend at the cabin with her.
Nancy was born on August 6, 1957 to Peter and Jessie (Howard) Conlin. She was the oldest of five siblings; Bill (Carrie) Conlin, Betty Conlin Zimmerman, Julie Conlin Seagrist, Mike (Dori) Conlin.
Nancy was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest. Her years in college as an enthusiastic pom-pom cheerleader for UW-LaCrosse took her many places including the Super Bowl XI in Pasadena, California as guest of the Minnesota Vikings. Her love for travel inspired her and she directed her focus on becoming a travel agent. Her exuberance in this field offered her the opportunity to travel around the world. Some trips were company related; Wind Jammer Cruises through Greece, and others were desired locations that she wanted to see; train ride through Europe with a good friend; seeing Chiang-Mai Northern Thailand by herself and experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime ride on an elephant. One of her favorite adventures included touring with her father to Antarctica spending a couple weeks on a ship.
In 1995 Nancy moved to Colorado Springs, CO. The Colorado high country, including the Garden of the Gods, offered spiritual and emotional healing, leading her to a new passion as a massage therapist. Her healing touch through massage and energy work provided relief and comfort to many. Nancy returned to Reedsburg in 2010 to care for her father. After her father’s death she remained as her mother’s care giver for 8 years. During this time, she also opened up her “Healing Touch” massage therapy business in Reedsburg. Nancy’s passion as a healer and an educator opened the door to many other possibilities.
Nancy was preceded in death by her younger sister Julie, and her father Peter.
She leaves behind her mother and three remaining siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She will be dearly missed as she is welcomed into her new journey into the spiritual world.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy was conducted at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father Patrick Wendler officiating. Visitation was on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Reedsburg.
