Obituary: Audrey J. Strutz

Audrey J. Strutz, age 81, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center with family by her side. She was born on February 4, 1940, in Lime Ridge, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lester and Edna (Brandt) Dietz. On November 2, 1957, Audrey was united in marriage to Richard H. Strutz. This marriage was blessed with three children.

Audrey was employed at Hankscraft/Gerber from 1971, retiring in 2015. She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. She loved watching NASCAR races, the Green Bay Packers and the Badgers. In her free time, Audrey could be found watching Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. She played Solitaire and was a great jigsaw puzzle solver. She enjoyed rides in the car; and above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; daughter, Kathy (Tim) Ryczek; parents; brothers and sisters: Ted Dietz, Ronald Dietz, Elaine (Phillip) Blakeslee, and Ruthie Fredrickson; brother-in-law Bob Tennant.

Audrey is survived by her children, Julie (Robert) Coens, Michael (Julie) Strutz, both of Reedsburg; grandchildren, Selina, Michele, Casey, Teresa, Angela, Holly, Richard, and Samantha; great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenny (Helen) Dietz, Janice Tennant, and David Dietz; along with many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Audrey J. Strutz were conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021at the Farber Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Visitation was held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial followed in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorials of remembrance may be made to the family.
