Obituary: John P. Stolte
John P. Stolte, age 58, entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2021. He was born March 6, 1963 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to Paul and Dorothy Stolte. Dear father of Jacob Stolte and Brianna (Evan) Lallensack. Also survived by his older sisters Ann Stolte and Kay (Rev. Brian) Albrecht; his former wife, Misty Stolte; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and lifelong friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy (Schluter) Stolte.
John graduated from Webb High School in Reedsburg, WI. There he played varsity sports, lettered in Choir, and was a member of the Thespian Society. These are passions that John would carry throughout the rest of his life.
John played on multiple softball teams and was an active member of church choir and Milwaukee’s Lutheran Acapella Choir, where he was a bass soloist for their fall and spring concerts. John was also a proud supporter of his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison from which he received a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Engineering in 1986. After graduating, John began his Engineering career at FM Global and would go on to work for the company for the better part of 34 years.
Of his many interests, John enjoyed Badger football, beer and cooking. He often offered up his kitchen and brought joy to various community functions through his culinary prowess. Above all, he was a man of faith. John served as Chaplain for the Marine Corp League and taught Sunday school never ceasing to carry the Word of God purposefully in his day to day life.
Visitation will be Friday, October 15, 2021 from 2:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm, at Elm Grove Lutheran Church, 945 Terrace Drive, Elm Grove.
