Open enrollment period begins Feb. 1

Open enrollment for Wisconsin public schools begins Feb. 1 and continues through April 30.

Parents and guardians can sign up their kids for the 2021-22 school year.

For more information about open enrollment, visit the Department of Public Instruction’s website at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment. Adult can also contact the school of their choice for details about enrolling children.

Districts are required to notify applicants of their enrollment status by June 11.

Transportation to and from a non-resident school is up to the parent or guardian in most circumstances.

During the previous school year, 65,266 students transferred between districts through open enrollment.
