Obituary: Rudolph ‘Bud’ Von Ahnen

Rudolph “Bud” Von Ahnen, age 98, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 12, 2020. He was born on October 30, 1922 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Rudolph and Gertrude (Berger) Von Ahnen. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Bud was a self-employed upholsterer.

He is survived by his companion-in-life of 30 years Betty Reinfeldt.

Together the couple lived at Lake Redstone for many years. He is also survived by one son; five daughters; along with other relatives and friends.

Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents, and a son.

A graveside service with military honors was conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 16, 2020 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be made to the Reedsburg VFW Post 1916.

The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family.
