Department launches program to empower young consumers
Consumer Protection 101 has been started to help young adults and college students.
CP101 delivers weekly video micro-lessons on YouTube and social media channels through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
Topics include rental agreements, fraud prevention and cybersecurity.
New data from the Federal Trade Commission shows younger people are increasingly falling prey to scams. It found that people in their 20s and 30s are 25 percent more likely to lose money to fraud than those 40 and older.
