Prem Rosemary E. (Wienkes) Prem, age 77 of Plain, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. She was born September 3rd, 1944 the daughter of Bernard and Minnie (Tomas) Wienkes.  She graduated from Fennimore High School in 1962. She met the love of her life, Andrew, at his birthday party, then he showed up at her birthday party about a week later.  She was united in marriage to Andrew G. Prem on October 1, 1966.She was a member of the St. Luke Catholic Church. She enjoyed serving her community, she was a former president and current membership officer of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 398 in Plain. She spent many years cooking at the St. Luke School and serving her community at many other local establishments. She, alongside her husband and usually multiple members of her family, cooked for various church functions at St. Patrick’s and St. Luke’s. Rosie recently retired after 29 years of working at the Plain Kwik Stop. She enjoyed spending time and socializing with family and friends. Rosie’s home was always open for a 12 a.m. gab session that usually included bacon and eggs or to anyone who needed a place to stay. She loved fishing, watching the birds, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and watching Wisconsin sports. Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Andrew; their children Raymond (Kristi) Prem, Amy (Aaron) Erdmann, Rodney (Jerri) Prem, Andrea Prem (Melissa True); grandchildren, Courtney (Dylan), Zachary, Matthew, Maddie, Mitchell, Robert and Jackson; her sister, Carolyn (Jerome) Winters; brothers, Ralph (Shirley) Wienkes, Richard (Nancy) Wienkes; in-laws, Catherine McDonald, Martha Erickson, Mike (Mary), Dorothy (Dave) Gorman, Bill (Sandy), Mary, Randeen, Karen Prem; nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law; son, Robert; granddaughter, Maddison; sister-in-law, Mary (Ben) Brings; brothers-in-law, Edward, Joseph, Tony Prem, Rudy Erickson and Larry McDonald. A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosie will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1240 Nachreiner Ave, Plain, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Fr. Garrett Kau will officiate with burial in the St. Luke Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church and again on Tuesday at 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Agrace Hospice, Sauk Prairie Healthcare and to all the special relatives and friends who have helped Rosie.
