Malcolm ‘Mick’ Ladd Malcolm ‘Mick’ Ladd, age 85, of Lone Rock, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Schmitt Woodland Hills surrounded by his family. He was born on February 12, 1938, in Richland Center, the son of Ariel and Veda (Carswell) Ladd. Mick graduated from Lone Rock High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in animal and dairy science from UW- Madison. He married Ardell Page on May 14, 1960, in Evansville. Mick farmed on the family farm in Bear Valley where he was born and raised. He continued his passion for agriculture until he retired. Mick’s life revolved around his grandchildren. Mick is survived by his wife Ardell Ladd; son Leif (Tracy) Ladd; daughter Rhonda (Rick) Ladd; five grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Dennis, Dustin (Becky) Ladd, Joshua (Nikki) Thideman, Charise (Will) Liebhart, Dillon (Crystal) Ladd; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane (Richard) Walters, Laura (Rob) Donner, Alice (Gene) Bailey; close friend, Leroy Huffman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mick was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Melisa Thideman; son-in-law Charlie Thideman; brothers: Doug (Winnie) Ladd, Allan Ladd; and sister Judy (Peter) Skelbred. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in the Bear Valley Cemetery.
