Wisconsin Heights elementary principal changes on the horizon

A few changes will be coming to the elementary principals at Wisconsin Heights next year. With the new year and the combined campus, Scott Moore will take over as sole elementary principal. Current Mazomanie Elementary principal and curriculum director Dale Green will transition into District Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Director. Moore is currently the principal of Black Earth Mazomanie and assessment coordinator. District Administrator Jordan Sin had the following to say: “[With] the transition to a unified PK - 5th-grade school, we discussed several options for administrative restructuring. Presently, Dale Green serves as a principal (Mazo) and our curriculum director for the entire district. At the same time, Scott Moore serves as both a principal (Black Earth) and our assessment coordinator for the entire district. After exploring a variety of options for restructuring, it was recommended to the Board that Scott Moore serve as the principal for our elementary school and Dale Green serve as the District Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Director. This transition will allow Dale to focus his work on supporting district-wide curriculum and instruction efforts without having to serve as a building principal. The same can be said for Scott, as he will be able to focus his efforts on leading our new elementary school.” Wisconsin Heights employees will be getting a potential reprieve when it comes to COVID absences with the board’s passage of an amendment to the handbook. The leave benefit will provide up to 40 hours of paid leave once they exhaust their own through the end of the school year. Covered events—all COVID related—include: If the employee is sick and had to quarantine or isolate due to COVID and has been vaccinated. Positive test results will need to be provided. If the employee has to care for a child sick with COVID (and the child is vaccinated, if possible). If the employee must stay home because their child’s daycare or school is temporarily closed due to COVID, or, if their child is a close contact and they need to care for them. Board member Angela Wolf noted and complimented the final childcare option. She said she appreciated how the District was looking out for their employees.
