Ronald Lee “Sarb” Sarbacker

Black Earth--Ronald Lee “Sarb” Sarbacker, age 88, of Black Earth, Wis., passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at Heartland Country Village. He was born on Nov. 14, 1935, in Black Earth, the son of Orlin and Charlotte (Kerl) Sarbacker. Ron graduated from Black Earth High School in 1953. After high school he proudly served in the National Guard and U.S. Air Force.  On Nov. 12, 1960, Ron married Judith Barsness who he affectionately called “Peachy.” He worked as a meat cutter for Oscar Mayer for over 30 years.  Ron enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends. He was a member of the Black Earth Golf Association and Black Earth Businessmen’s league for many years. He was an avid fan of the Black Earth Bombers Home Talent baseball team and was part of their booster club. In the summer, Sarb could often be found mowing his lawn aboard his Cub Cadet. Ron is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Vernon (Kerri) Sarbacker and John (Brian Melvin) Sarbacker; and three grandchildren, Justin Sarbacker, Jordyn Sarbacker and Jaron Sarbacker.
