Marlene L. (Schmitty) Schmitz

Marlene L. Schmitz, age 94, (Schmitty) from Sauk City, Wisconsin passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2024 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo, Wisconsin from natural causes.
A Celebration of life will be June 1st, 2024, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cedarberry Inn, 855 Phillips Blvd., Sauk City, Wisconsin 53583
Marlene was born December 23, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Everette and Louise (Tessmer) Newbury. She married Frank C. Schmitz on December 18th, 1954 in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Marlene graduated high school in 1948. Worked numerous jobs at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital for 30 plus years. Then retiring and volunteering in the emergency room and coaching people who had knee or hip surgery. Marlene enjoyed summer vacations, fishing, bowling, reading, word searches, putting puzzles together and playing bunco with friends. She was an avid Packer fan and loved WWE wrestling on Friday nights.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank Schmitz; brothers: Russell and Raymond Newbury, sisters: Louise, Mildred, Myrl and Gladys Newbury
Survivors: Daughter: Debra Schmitz of Mazomanie, Wisconsin, Brother: Kenneth (Pam) Newbury of Walsenburg, Colorado, Granddaughter: Teena Peart and 2 greatgrandkids (twins) Raelyn and Riley of Mazomanie, Wisconsin. Several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Special friends: Debbie Richardson of Sauk City, Wisconsin, Trina Williams of Sauk City, Wisconsin, Nancy Schmitz of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin and Karen and Jim Pugh of Sauk City, Wisconsin.
