Ione Rose (Meyer) Harms, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 91 years of age at Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg, WI.
Ione was born on March 15, 1935, to Ewald and Florence (Rose) Meyer.  She was baptized and later confirmed in her faith in St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg.  lone grew up in Reedsburg with her parents and two older brothers, Reuben and Lyell.   Ione graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1953.  She had various jobs after high school and married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Harms, on June 8, 1957 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Reedsburg.  After the marriage, they lived in many different areas due to Raymond becoming a minister.  They had four daughters, Rebecca, Barbara, Michelle and Carolyn.
Ione had many different types of secretarial jobs after the girls were in school.  She was active in church groups through the years and especially enjoyed singing in the church choir.  She was known to sew her girls’ dresses and outfits and later on would sew for her grandchildren.  She would can the produce from the garden that Ray planted.  The family also had many different camping adventures in their converted school bus.
Upon retirement, they moved back home to the Loganville area and later moved into Reedsburg.  She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities whether athletic or musical.  She spent a lot of time working on puzzles, word games and playing cards at the SCHCC.
Ione was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers and their wives, Janet and Delores; her son in law, John; her grandson, Vincent, and great grandson, Raymond James and her brothers in law and sisters in law. 
She is survived by her children Becky (Lyle) Gahler; Barbara Suguitan; Michelle (Paul) Crolius; and Carolyn (Mitch) Truebenbach; grandchildren Jacob (Jess), Katie (Keith), step grandchildren Chet (Stacy), Mitch (Heather), Salena (Masion), Sawyer and Sedric; Matthew (Katie), Alicia (Justin), Joshua (Mallory); Nathan, Brandon, Colin (Maggie); Amanda (Ross), Blair (Brett), Cole and Demi; and 27 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Ione will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 St. John’s Lutheran Church in Loganville with Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday at the church form 12:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. at the church. Burial will follow the service at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Loganville. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Peter’s Video Ministry or St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Reedsburg.
The family would like to thank the Sauk County Health Care Center for the care that they gave Ione over the years she resided there.
