Merrimac/Sauk Prairie--Betty Fay Ziegler, age 85, passed away at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Missouri on Jan. 26, 1940 to the late Bill and Grace (King) Clark.  She was united in marriage in Baraboo to Dale Ziegler on June 1st, 1957; he preceded her in death on July 16, 1997.  Betty and Dale made their home in Merrimac for many years.  She worked for Eagle Signal in Baraboo for over 25 years before moving on to work at Milwaukee Valve until retirement. 
She enjoyed traveling trips with her family, highlights being rv camping trips to Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and out west.  She crocheted blankets, made beautiful quilts and shared her talent with family and friends.  Betty also enjoyed baking; and was also a sports fan, cheering on the Brewers and Packers.
She is survived by her 2 children, James “Jim” (Patty) Ziegler, and his daughter, Mandy and her children, Chase, Kaidyn Mantei, and Lily Ziegler; daughter, Jeanne (Bill) Ziegler-Kirchstein; and their children, Trina (Scott) and their three boys, Carson, Collin and Alex Williams; and Steven (Sabrina) Kirchstein; son in-law, Steve Mock and his children; Jason and his boys, Beckham and Jordy Mock; and daughter, Autume (Mike) and their children, Addison and Breanna Gollon.  She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dale; she was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Mock and siblings, Ray, Alta “Tootie”, and David.
Betty’s family would like to thank the caregivers from Agrace and Maplewood Nursing Home and the U.W. Carbone Cancer Center and her oncologist, Dr. Brett Morris for their wonderful care and their valiant efforts.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City.
