Elaine J. Owen

Elaine J. Owen, age 82, formally of Sauk, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at Dove Healthcare in Lodi, WI. Elaine was born May 26, 1943 to Fred and E. Adela (Klaetsch) Slotty. A complete obituary to follow.

Elaine dedicated many years of her life to teaching in elementary schools, where she touched the lives of countless students with her kindness, patience, and passion for learning. After her time in education, she continued to share her love of discovery and adventure through her work at a travel agency, helping others explore the world and create lasting memories.

She is survived by her brother Marvin Slotty; nephew Steve Slotty; cousin Carolyn Giffert; and good friends Joanne Brandt, Pat Jones, Mike Ashworth, and Gene Hackbarth,. She was preceded in death by her dear friend Lois Hackbarth.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leland with Pastor Jay Kiel officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at church. Internment will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Leland. Online condolences may be made at www.grassefs.com.
