Blackhawk/Leland--Donald Raymond Diske aka “Stormy” passed away peacefully Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital.  Stormy was born to Mildred and Marvin Diske during a snowstorm on January 14, 1940 in the back of a car.  Hence the nickname Stormy.  
Stormy married Virginia Mielke on December 17, 1960. Early in their married life Stormy helped his parents on the farm just outside of Leland; he was a lifelong resident of Black Hawk/Leland area.
As a bricklayer Stormy left his signature on several buildings throughout the area including Devil’s Head and Sauk Prairie High School and numerous buildings throughout the Madison area.  Stormy was a partner in successful construction company DuDon Construction.  Stormy’s Bar in Leland, WI was the next adventure for Stormy where he served ‘The Best Burgers by a Damn Site’.
An avid hunter Stormy enjoyed squirrel, racoon, deer hunting. He also enjoyed fishing. He took several trips over the years “out” west on hunting trips with friends that provided him with endless memories and fun.  He participated in bowling leagues, bowling tournaments and sponsored a softball team.  He loved food. During family holidays there was never a lack of something to eat.  Virginia and Stormy loved to have fun.  They were incredible dancers, enjoyed the Wisconsin Badger games with season tickets for many, many years.  Stormy was a Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He loved watching NASCAR races and became a big fan of Jeff Gordon.  
Stormy was member of Honey Creek Snowmobile Club and the Honey Creek Rod and Gun Club in which he served as a long-term president.  Stormy even took a stab at politics and served as town chairman for the Township of Troy.
Stormy supported his kids by attending all their school and sports functions.  Stormy loved his grandkids. Once they started participating in school and sports activities Stormy was sure to attend those events.  He and Ginny loved watching the kids play.
Stormy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ginny (Virginia); 4 children, Lauri Diske (Bill Harder), Dave Diske, Todd Diske and Guy Diske (Susie). They have 4 grandchildren; Riley, Molly and Tiffeny Diske and Kimberly Russell; a great grandson, Brayson “Buckshot”; three sisters, DuVonne Cummings (Ken), Donna Faye Bailey (Dick) and Diane Ruhland (Dale). He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Marvin; a sister Linda; two brothers, Duane and Kenneth; and brothers-in-law, Richard (Dick) Bailey and Dale Ruhland.
A Memorial Service will be held for Stormy on Saturday, Sept. 6th, 2025 at 11:00 am at First United Church of Christ, 504 Washington Ave., Sauk City.  A visitation will be held the evening before on Friday, Sept. 5th from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the church and the morning of the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.  Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery.
