Irene M. “Munch” Duffy

Irene M. “Munch” Duffy, age 76, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Sauk County Health Care Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 1, 1949 in Blue Island, IL, to Nicholas and Elvira (Castro) Vidales. She was united in marriage to Joel Duffy.
Munch was just a simple, loving person who loved doing her crossword puzzles and listening to country music. Her favorites to name a few were The Judd’s, George Jones and Loretta Lynn. Munch loved her friends she made at the Health Care Center that she would laugh and joke around with. She had a nickname for everyone she met. They loved her and she will be greatly missed. She liked to gamble at the casino. She also was a die-hard Cubs fan. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs (Amigo, Oso, and Osito). She was a collector of many things but was very fond of her M&M collection.
Munch was an aunt and great aunt to many and she is going to be missed dearly. She had many cousins, her favorite being Caroline whom she nicknamed Coco. Munch and her sister Eva had a very special bond and loved watching cartoons, Court TV, and just visiting and being together.
Munch is going to be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever. A special thanks to all the health care center workers who took great care of her during her time there and her doctor, Deanna Benish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel; and brother, Richard Vidales.
Munch is survived by her son, Sean Duffy of Baraboo; brother, Louis Vidales of Chicago, IL; sisters, Esther (Chris) Hunt of Oklahoma, Christine Benish of Madison, and Eva (Dale) Huffman of Reedsburg; nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
