Obituary: Fred R. “Dick” Rudolph

Fred R. “Dick” Rudolph, age 81, of Rock Springs, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on February 6, 1944 in Baraboo, the son of Fred Sr. and Johanna (Schlegel) Rudolph. On September 11, 1993 he was united in marriage to Susan J. Adler in Rock Springs.
Growing up, he learned the passion of restoring antique motorcycles with his father. In his younger days, he could be found working as a mechanic at local car dealerships. Which led him to become a Stunt Driver for Crash Dick’s Thrill Show followed by Klein’s, Beard Trucking and Waste Management until retirement. He enjoyed driving the countryside looking for “Rusty Gold” and shared many stories of his findings. Following his father’s footsteps, he was a Lifetime Member of the Badger Steam & Gas Engine Club, which he passed down to his 3 daughters as Lifetime Members also.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan; his brother, Clarence (Dorothy) Rudolph; his sisters, Eleanor (Edward) Stinebrink, and Irene (Raymond) Cronn.
He is survived by his sister, JoAnne Woodward, his daughters, Tammy (John) Pate, Kim (Bill) Shepherd, Beckie (Bill) Kuball; step children, Wes (Stacy) Pagel, Suzanne
Marvin, Mandy (Todd) Theobald, Kary Pagel, Aaron Pagel, 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Belle; proud Uncle to many nieces and nephews; special friend, George Clement, and honorary son, Jimmy Scholl.
Funeral services for Fred “Dick” Rudolph will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Chaplain Mike Amberg officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Rock Springs. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the girl’s will be making a donation to the Badger Steam and Gas Engine Club in their Dad’s memory.

Fred’s parting advice was always, “Be good, behave, be safe”! It was never “goodbye” for his daughters, instead “See ya! Love Ya…Later”.
We love you with all of our hearts, Dad! Once (Tammy), Twice (Kim), and Enough (Beckie).
