Cyril “Hap” Rach Cyril “Hap” Rach, age 76, of Mount Horeb, Peacefully passed away at home on the morning of Sunday, December 22, 2024. I was born on July 14, 1948, the second child of Cyril “Hap” Rach Sr. and Margaret Walsh Rach. I was raised in Spring Green where I reside once again. After graduating from St. John’s Catholic Grade School, I attended River Valley High School, graduating in 1966. Where I played football, basketball, and even a bit of wrestling. I continued my education at UW Platteville, Where I was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. I graduated from UW Platteville in 1974. After graduation I began a career in agricultural and industrial sales and marketing in the Midwest, Northwestern states, and Canada. In 1981 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. During recovery I had the help of lifelong friends, Jane and Jerry Dietman and Mike and Luann Kane. There are no words to express my gratitude for their kindness across those years. In the course of my recovery I became reacquainted with Patricia Ann McGinley. We were later married on January 7, 1984. At that time I became a father to Melissa and Bill Skindrud, being a part of their lives and watching them grow brought me great joy. After marrying Pat, I moved to Mt. Horeb, which provided me with a great opportunity to become one of the founding fathers of the Mount Horeb/Barneveld youth football program. I coached 22 seasons with over 100 wins! In more recent years, Pat, the love of my life, donated a kidney to me in 2018, which saved my life. I am survived by my wife Pat; daughter Melissa (Nick) Schultz, son William “Bill” Skindrud; grandchildren Lucas Danz, Morgan (Brad) Crawfis, Zak Olson, Miranda (Clay) Mortenson, Kiera Olson, Owen Schultz, and Elliott Schultz; great-grandchildren Maeve and Roman Crawfis; sisters and brother, Fran Rach Johnson and Tom J. Hansen, Lalia Rach and Jan Hatleberg, John (Rosa) Rach, Margo (Bob) Wood; niece Maggie (Mitch) Glasser, nephew Sam (Jenna) Wood; godchildren Shawn Kane and Tammy Clary. And many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, great nieces and nephews. I was preceded in death by my parents, son-in-law Mark Olson, mother and father-in-law Polly Ann and Ned McGinley. My funeral is to be a celebration of joy despite my health, I loved life.  My favorite song Joy To the World by Three Dog Night, a direct reflection of how I loved life.  “Sing it now, Joy to the world, All the boys and girls, Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea, Joy to you and me!” A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green.  Online condolences available at www.staffordfuneralhomes.com  The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
