Obituary: Judy Ann (Mittlesteadt) Bloss
Judy Ann (Mittlesteadt) Bloss passed on to her next life on November 18th , 2024. She was born in Winfield Township on June 26th , 1943. Being the oldest child in the family, Judy had a lot of responsibilities around the farm, like milking cows, gathering eggs, feeding the chickens, and gardening. She also packed lunches and walked with her sister Sharon to Hay Creek School. Judy enjoyed being a member of Jolly Beaver 4-H Club. It was a big day when they went to Madison and square danced on T .V . On November 14th , 1958 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rock Springs she married Marvin G. Bloss and they paid for their beautiful wedding. At the reception in Loganville, her father’s toast was “I just lost the best hired help I ever had.” The dance followed even with a blizzard that night. They then bought a trailer and lived on a farm outside of Reedsburg. They were blessed with a beautiful family of four children. In 1962, they bought a huge Victorian house in Rock Springs just one street over from Marvin’s parents. They lived there for 53 years before moving to Reedsburg. Judy worked as a waitress at Behnke’s in Rock Springs, co-managed the roller rink in Rock Springs, and worked as a teaching assistant for the School District of Reedsburg where she retired after 28 years. After retiring, Marvin and Judy spent 6 years in Arizona and 5 years in Florida as camp hosts while living in their RV . Many wonderful memories and friends were made along the way. They were also fortunate to do a lot of traveling including Alaska and Hawaii and family vacations. Those left with beautiful memories are her husband, Marvin. Her children Tammy (Brian), Alan (Theresa), Terry (Nickeisha), and Amy. Her grandchildren Chasity (Jay), Tait, Briana (Gavin), Amanda (Kyle), Alan (Cora), Cory (Stacy), Candace (Richard), Christopher, Eric (Diana), Teryc, Marvel, Keneil, Devin, McCartney (Tyler), Jarod (Jamie). Her great-grandchildren Dustin (Alex), Renee (Cole), Peyton, Wyatt, Percy, Trinity, Melanie, Taylee, Lily, Alden, David, Maverick, Sage, Casey, and Caleb. Her great-great-grandchildren Bowden, Brynley, Isla, and Ivy. Her siblings Sharon (Bill) and family, James (Carolyn) and family, Cousin Joice and many other relatives and friends. Those waiting for God’s call of Judy were her grandparents Melcom and Blanche, grandparents JD and Loretta, parents Russell and Delores, sister Linda, in-laws Ellsworth and Bernice, brother-in-laws Dale and Kenneth, special aunt and uncle Edith and Ralph, son-in-law Marc, adopted son Arnold.
