Obituary: Sheila A. Bjoin

Sheila A. Bjoin, age 75, of Janesville, found peace on Friday, November 1, 2024. She was born in Reedsburg on January 5, 1949, the daughter of Oren and Ruby (Mundth) Schulze. She married Alfred Berndt in 1967, and they later divorced. She married Eugene Erickson in 1975, but they later divorced. On December 31, 2006, Sheila married the love of her life, Michael H. Bjoin, Sheila and Mike enjoyed a decades long friendship, and their ten-year marriage was filled with true joy until his death on June 5, 2016.

Sheila worked for Harpo’s Supper Club for many years before purchasing this iconic restaurant in 1989. The ultimate hostess, Sheila and her team served the best steaks around and unforgettable moments until her retirement in 2006. Invigorated by people and service, Sheila volunteered at Mercy Hospital in the gift shop and even enjoyed a few years working at Boston Store selling jewelry.

Sheila opened her arms and heart to so many people in her 75 years. Anyone invited to her table enjoyed the best food, but her spirit and love of life kept them all coming back.  Known for her impressive wit and grace, Sheila made friends wherever she went. With mischief and sass, Sheila and her good friend Sally were always ready for the next challenge. No one could ever predict what the feisty duo and their DIY attitude would lead to next.
