Obituary: Linda Wood-McClaren
Linda Wood-McClaren, age 77, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Friday, June 28, 2024, at Hospice House in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Funeral Services were held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Mike Amberg, Chaplain, officiating. Visitation was held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Linda was laid to rest in the Lime Ridge Cemetery in Lime Ridge, Wisconsin. Following the burial a luncheon was held in the Loyd Community Center.
Born on April 15, 1947, Linda was the daughter of Raymond and Geraldine (Armstrong) Wood. Linda enjoyed spending most of her days doing the things she loved. She had a passion for crocheting. She made various items, such as, blankets, hats, and scarves. Linda loved spending time with her family and longtime friend and companion, Dick Berning. She could always carry on a conversation with stories, which made holidays and events that much more special.
She was like a mother to her nieces and nephews, Tina Pratt, Randy German, Tammy Temple, and Sheila Johnson, all who adored her. Linda had other nieces and nephews that lived farther away, but were close in heart. She also had many great nieces and nephews and some great-great nieces and nephews that always looked forward to spending time with her. Linda was an avid dog lover! She cared for her own dogs with so much love and compassion, along with others. She lived in a subdivision surrounded by family. The dogs loved Linda so much, that they decided to link all of their fences together so all the dogs could come visit her, which they did daily! Linda was so loved, by so many, and will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by Richard Berning, companion, brother, Virgil (Jan) Wood of Illinois, sister, Pat (Ron) Alt of Arizona, and sister, Donna Wood-Cohoon of Lyndon Station. Linda was preceded in death by her son Brian McClaren, and husband Larry McClaren.
