Gerald Ralph Goldben
Black Earth--Gerald Ralph Goldben, 78, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, under Agrace HospiceCare at Middleton Village. He was born on Sept. 20, 1945, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, the son of Ruth Marie (Norland) Goldben and Norman Gilman Goldben. He was baptized and confirmed at East Blue Mounds Lutheran Church in rural Mount Horeb
Gerald attended Black Earth schools and worked for Wick Homes, Mazomanie, and then for the American Red Cross. Gerald “Jed” enjoyed driving the van to help set up blood drives and delivered blood to hospitals throughout Wisconsin. He was also a caregiver for his parents enabling them to stay in their home, for which his family was most grateful. In later years, he faithfully cared for the gravesites of his parents and other family members. Gerald enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, grilling and cooking.
Gerald is survived by his sisters, Marlene Bergum and Nancy (Terry) Loper; brothers, Darvin (Joan) and Ronald Goldben; sister-in-law, Julie Goldben; former family members, Robert Bergum, Linda Goldben and Debi Goldben; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Earl and Dale Goldben.
A celebration of life will be held at Grandma Mary’s Cafe, 175 US-14, Arena, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Memorials may be gifted in Gerald’s name to the donor’s choice.
