James (Larry) Smith

Mazomanie--James (Larry) Smith, son of James H., and Verda L. (Wallace) Smith, born on March 25, 1943, passed away February 9, 2024 in Osage Beach, MO. He served as a Captain in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a golf pro in Benson, AZ.  Larry/Jim is survived by his children Juelanne, Jerilynn, Bridgette, Shannon, and Tracey. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was very proud of all of them. He is further survived by his sisters Cheryl, Shannon and Shelley. Nieces, nephews, step children and step grandchildren too. He is remembered with love.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, his best friend and brother Dennis, his nephew Todd and Shannon’s mother Barbara. The family would like to thank his son-in-law Todd for visiting and being available for guy talk. Monica for her ongoing support and friendship. Lastly, his daughter Julie for being right by his side during his struggles with his health. We wouldn’t have had the extra time with him without her love and care. Graveside service with Military Honors will be May 10th, 2024 at 11a.m. at Mazomanie Cemetery Highway 14. A luncheon will follow at the Arena, WI VFW.
