Ian J. Brander
Ian J. Brander, age 39 of Lone Rock, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on December 10, 1984, the son of James and Pamela (Scott) Brander. Ian graduated from River Valley High School in 2003 and attended UW LaCrosse. He was an avid cross country runner in high school, and also ran track, and participated in forensics and mock trial. He was a percussionist in the band and enjoyed playing his drumset as loudly as possible at home. He also enjoyed hunting, especially at Grandpa Scott’s, and playing with his dog, Howard. Survivors include his parents, James and Pamela Brander of Spring Green; two sisters, Bethany Brander (Cory Sloan) of Madison and Erin Krause (Dan) of Fitchburg; paternal grandparents, Glen and Marie Brander of Lone Rock; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Otis and Mary Ann Scott. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Lone Rock Community Congregational Church. Rev. Craig Peach officiated with burial in the Spring Green Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an animal rescue of the donor’s choice, or toward a scholarship to be established in his name.
