Walter “Wally” John Endres

Walter “Wally” John Endres, 89, passed away on January 14, 2024, at Maplewood Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was born in Roxbury on October 22, 1934, to Leonard and Lydia (Breunig) Endres. He lived and farmed there all his life until a storm in May 1998 destroyed his house and barn.
Wally loved polka music and enjoyed attending many dances. He also played the accordion. He took great care of his mother in her later years. He was very handy at fixing and making things. He enjoyed spending time in his shop. He was a lifelong member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church, Roxbury.
Wally was one of twelve children. He is survived by sisters Mabel (Bob deceased) Gilles, Della (Mike deceased) Ryan, and brothers Del (Judy), Wayne (Marcia), and Dan (Rita). He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Orville (Mary), Harry (Marlene), and sisters Rachel (John) Andrewjeski, Selma (Vincent) Koch, Annella (Wilfred) Gilles and infant sister, Celine.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, January 19, at 11:00 a.m .at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church, Roxbury. Visitation was held Friday morning, January 19, 9:30 am – 10:45 am at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water Street, Sauk City.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Pines Assisted Living, Maplewood Nursing Home, and Agrace Hospice for the wonderful care and attention they gave to Wally.
