  James E. Anderson Sr. James E. Anderson Sr., age 80 of Arena, passed away on Thanksgiving, November 23, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on January 28, 1943, in Edgerton, the son of Nels and Emma (Grell) Anderson. James loved to hunt and fish with his family, cook and grill, watch T.V., and spend time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Arena; three daughters, Vickie Mahl of Markesan, Becky Anderson and Candy (Mike) Morrow of Arena; eight grandchildren, Justin, Sherra, Alyssa, David, and Zachary Morrow, Troy, Stephanie, Renee Mahl; and one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Mahl; four sisters, Janette Irwin of Knoxville, Tennessee, Barbara Allen of Janesville, Rose Mary McDonald of Edgerton, Kathy Casale of Elmhurst, Illinois; two brothers, Paul and Eugene Anderson of Edgerton; many relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his son, James E. Anderson Jr.; his parents, and five siblings, Ruth Fischer, Robert, William, Norma Johnson, and Audrey Lund. A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a short service at 11 a.m. at the Brisbane Hall - Grandma Mary’s Restaurant, 175 Highway 14 Arena, with a luncheon to follow.
