Patricia Ann Boehnen
CROSS PLAINS – Patricia Ann Boehnen, age 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024. Pat was born on Feb. 18, 1948, in Elkhorn, Wis., to LeRoy and Jayne Bruce. Pat graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1966 and later from Madison Area Technical College with an R.N. degree in 1984. During that time, she also married her love, Charles Boehnen, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church on April 9, 1983.
Patricia was a registered nurse for most of her career, along with also grabbing the next tier of DON (director of nursing), where she focused most of her career on the geriatric population.
Pat enjoyed life with gusto and enthusiasm. She loved spending time with family, especially at holiday gatherings. Pat truly treasured her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored. She was actively involved in most all activities, from large to small or far to near. Pat was always found outdoors where she was busy in her flower beds and vegetable gardens. She loved watching birds, camping, visiting the Northwoods, and traveling. She had many roles in sports like cheerleader, gymnast, golfer and bowling.
Mom’s “hugs” were her legacy.
Patricia is survived by her children, Kimberly, Debra and Ron (my special son) and Karen (Torrence); grandchildren, Justin (Tori), Tyler (Gracey), Krystal, Derek, Katrina, Danial, Cody (Emily), Austin, Cory (Rochelle), Amanda, Lizzy (Corey) and Hannah (Brooks); great-grandchildren, Gunner, Tatum, Trenton, Milo, Mabel, Stephne, Anastasia, Lincoln, Harlow, Charlotte and Bayne; beloved sister, Dorothy; brother, John (Lynne); as well as nieces and nephews and so many friends. Patricia will also be missed by her beloved feline companions, Baby Boo, Jo Jo and Mr. Kitty; and six laying ladies. She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Jayne; husband, Chuck; son, Tom; brothers, Bill (Maureen) and LeRoy (Linda); and sister, Nancy (Darrel).
A funeral service will be held at ST. MARTIN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2427 Church St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024. Burial will be held at Valley Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Grelle for her many years of compassionate care, friendship and hugs along with her dedicated staff. Also, thank you to her hospice team, Brittany and Jessica in helping us get through this difficult journey.
