Obituary: Donald Lee Hull
Donald Lee Hull, age 89, of Reedsburg, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Middleton Village Nursing Home in Middleton, WI. He was born on October 21, 1934, in Hannibal, MO, to Elmer and Helen (Thomas) Hull. Donald served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1957 until 1963 as a cook.
On February 9, 1958 he was united in marriage to Carole Shearman for 58 years until her passing on February 20, 2016. This marriage was blessed with three children. They moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1973, and in the spring of 1987 they moved to Reedsburg.
He worked for Brenner Litho as a plant manager from 1983 until 2000, and Kwik Trip in Reedsburg until he retired full time in 2006.
Don was a member of the Reedsburg Rotary International Club, and was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship given by the local Rotary chapter. He loved to be in charge of ordering supplies and flipping pancakes for the Fly In/Drive In for numerous years. He served as a Reedsburg City Council Member, as well as the Citizen Member on numerous city committees until 2019. He was a past member of the Reedsburg Country Club, past member and youth director at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Madison before moving to Reedsburg. Don was a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg.
He is survived by his children, Martha (Dean) Kowalke, Susan Hull and David (Julie) Hull; grandchildren, Mallory (Lance) Dorman, Amanda (Dominick) Bourisaw-Orlando, Marissa (Nick) Walters, Andrew Hull, and Michael (Carsyn) Hull; great grandchildren, Riley, Carsten, Louis, Abbigail, Olivia, Elijah, Tobias.
A memorial service for Donald Hull was conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Visitation was held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Military rites followed the service at the funeral home.
