Roger W. Wilkinson

Roger W. Wilkinson, age 79, of North Freedom passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at his home. He was born on April 24, 1944 in Arena, WI, the son of Louis and Doris Wilkinson. He married the love of his life Sharon Berger on August 20, 1966 at the Lutheran Church in Cambria, WI. They were married for 51 years.
After getting married in 1966, they lived in Evansville, WI. This is where he started his teaching career, received his Masters Degree, and then had their first child, Larry. In 1971 they moved to the farm they purchased together by North Freedom. He taught school at Grand Avenue in Prairie du Sac for 7 years. In 1978 the dairy cows arrived and they started a new career in dairy farming, working beside Sharon everyday and raising their 3 sons. He retired from dairy farming in 2012. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, traveling, camping in his truck camper, and visiting with his brothers, sisters, relatives, and friends.
Roger is survived by his 3 sons, Larry (Jeni) Wilkinson of North Freedom, Gregory (Jackie) Wilkinson of North Freedom, and Dean (Amber) Wilkinson of Cambria; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Alyson, and Erik; 8 siblings, Helen Witte, Virginia (Joel Walker) Murphy, Rachel Corey, Kendall (Margaret) Wilkinson, Beverly (Doug) Scott, Tony (Tami) Wilkinson, Tom (Michele) Wilkinson, Tim (Cathy) Wilkinson; brother-in-law Robert Berger; and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his wife Sharon in 2017; his parents; daughter-in-law Tina Wilkinson; 3 brother-in-laws, Gary Witte, Tom Murphy, and Bill Corey; father and mother-in-law Elvin and Norma Berger.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 12 at 11 a.m. at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rock Springs with Pastor David Karow officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom with a luncheon at the church. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church Tuesday. Visitation was held on Monday, December 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grasse Funeral Home in Reedsburg.
