Obituary: Norma E. Bulin

Norma E. Bulin, age 100, of Reedsburg passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Reedsburg Senior Life Center. She was born July 10, 1923 to Joseph E. Levy and Elsie (Hynek) Levy in Richland Center county where she grew to adulthood and attended school.
Norma was united in marriage to J. Arnold Bulin November 14, 1942. They enjoyed 54 happy years together. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1996. They began their married life on a farm in Sauk County. Together they raised three children to adulthood. Enjoying carpentry, Arnold chose that as a full time job. In their last year of farming he built their retirement home near Wonewoc, WI. They moved to Wonewoc in 1978 after the sale of their farm. They shared many interests such as dancing, car trips with family, and later numerous bus tours throughout many states and Canada. Card playing was a huge pastime for them.
Norma worked at the Ray-o-Vac Battery Company in Wonewoc for 20 years. In 2005 she sold their Wonewoc home and bought a condo in Ridgeview Heights in Reedsburg. With a lot of caring people there and at the Reedsburg Senior Life Club which she joined, the card playing continued as well as the Scrabble games. She started a card playing dessert club with the ladies from Ridgeview and with that developed many wonderful friendships. Crocheting, puzzles, and reading kept her busy. She also became a big fan of Brewers baseball and Badgers basketball. Her family was her greatest joy.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne (Henry) Schultz of Reedsburg; son Wayne (Judy) Bulin of Appleton; son-in-law, Michael McHugh of Madison; 4 grandchildren, Wendy, Tammy, Craig, and Kelli; 6 great grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and 4 step great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter Sharon McHugh on July 17, 2017; her parents; two sisters, Thelma Wopat and Bessie Rott. One brother Marvin Levy.
Norma’s family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to the Reedsburg Senior Life Center staff for the excellent care given to our mother.
