Obituary: Gail Marie Tassone

Gail Marie Tassone, age 76, of Wisconsin Dells passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at her home.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 11:00 A.M – 1:00 PM at the Picha Funeral Home – Lake Delton WI. A second Celebration of Life gathering is scheduled at St. Andrews Country Club in the Trophy Room in West Chicago, IL on Saturday, December 30th from 11:00am until 3:00pm.

Gail was born on October 1, 1947, in Evanston, Illinois. Gail started her work career at Illinois Bell and spent over 28 years there in a variety of different jobs. She was also a licensed Real Estate Broker in both Illinois and Wisconsin for over 40 years. When she moved to Wisconsin 20 years ago from West Chicago, IL she also worked in many different hospitality positions, including time with Ho-Chunk Casino, Lands’ End, and Great Wolf Lodge.

Once you met Gail, she was hard to forget.  She was a bundle of energy and was blessed with the gift of gab. She was truly a local historian in both West Chicago and the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells area.  If you wanted to know what was going on, she had the answers.

Her true passion was Real Estate, and she always went above and beyond to make sure her clients were well informed and made the right decision. She sold well over 1000 homes in her lifetime and served multiple generations of the same family on numerous occasions. Her other passion was animals and had many different dogs and cats over the years she would rescue from the local shelters. On a lighter note, Gail was a cheese curd connoisseur, and the local restaurants can now rest easy knowing yellow cheese instead of white is now acceptable :)

She is survived by her sons, Joe (Kim) Ambrose of Batavia, IL and Jeff Ambrose of Oak Brook, IL, also survived by her sister Lori (Greg) Fichter and her grandchildren, Austin, Jack, and Kyle, and three daughters via marriage; Debra (Greg) Drake of Ocala, FL, Dena Berry of Clermont, FL, and Donna (Telly) Anthony of Ocala, Florida; Gail is preceded in death by her parents and husband Michael Tassone.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you make a donation in Gail’s name to the Carl W. Nelson Animal Shelter (http://www.carlnelson.org/ways-to-help.html) Mauston, Wisconsin.

The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements. For On-Line condolences and information, go to www.pichafuneralhome.com.
