Obituary: Jean Ann Dankert

We are sad to announce the passing of Jean Ann Dankert, age 67 of Reedsburg. She passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, after struggling with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) for more than 3 years.
Jean was married to her husband Dennis Dankert for 39 years and raised 5 children. She was a grandmother to 4. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who centered her life on the care and well-being of her family. The pride and joy of Jean’s life was to watch each of her children grow into successful adults and start families of their own. One of her most gratifying hobbies was cooking and preparing meals the whole family could enjoy around the dinner table together.
Jean was an expert at creating beautiful and inviting spaces. She loved taking care of the yard, landscaping, caring for her colorful flower beds, and feeding the birds. She also had a knack for interior decorating and design, which she used to make a warm and cozy home for those she loved.
In addition to her family and home life, Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a dedicated employee of Lands’ End for more than 25 years. She will be remembered as a classy woman who was always well-dressed, stylish, and who exuded grace and poise.
Survivors include her husband Dennis; her children, Jim Fish (Kelly Fry), Amy (Chris) Hahn, Jeremy (Staci) Dankert, Christa (Blake) Duren, Jacob Dankert (Brooke Daven); grandchildren, Halle Hahn, Clayton Hahn, Gunnar Dankert, and Aspen Dankert; her siblings, Mary Jane (Earl) Ruhland, Francis (Jamie) Roessler, Patty Roessler, Vickie (Jerry) Nachreiner, Alan (Diane) Roessler, and Randy Roessler; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Beulah Roessler, father Raymond Gene Roessler, brother Joseph Roessler, and sister Rita Hess.
