Mark A. Wopat

Mark A. Wopat, age 58, passed away on Friday, September 29th 2023, at Sauk Prairie Hospital.  Mark was born in Madison, WI on March 23rd 1965, the son of Paul and Doris Wopat. He graduated from La Follette High School. Mark worked as a welder for McFarlanes and Skyline Steel for many years, and later ran his own painting business.  Mark enjoyed watching the races, snowmobiling, sitting out by the fire with friends, being with his dog Lucky and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Mark is survived by his mother, Doris Wopat (James McFarland); loving partner Tracy Griffiths; daughters, Melissa Chvojicek (Benjamin), Trisha Armstrong, Taylor Armstrong, Tori Armstrong; grandchildren, Robert, Aubrey, Andrew, Brooklyn, Gracelynn, Catalaya, Daelynn, Ezell, and Lillianne; sister, Connie Panten (Mike); nephew and niece, Trevor and Caitlin; aunt, Pat Harris; and many other family members.  Preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Wopat; grandparents, Jean and Paul Wopat, and Ilsa and Robert Johnson; and uncles Robert “Jack” Johnson and Horst Frischbier.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  hooversonfuneralhomes.com
