Sally Jo (Salava) Sutcliffe

Black Earth--Sally Jo (Salava) Sutcliffe, age 64, of Black Earth, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on June 29, 1959, in Richland Center, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Judith (Boughton) Salava.
Sally attended River Valley High School and graduated in 1977. She married Michael Sutcliffe on Jan. 19, 1990, in Black Earth, Wis. Sally worked as a custodian and cook for New Heights Lutheran Church. Before her work for the church, she worked in daycare and was a stay-at-home mom. Sally was a member of New Heights Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
Sally is survived by husband, Michael; daughters, Heather Watkins, Tricia (fiancé, Ben Bushie) Sutcliffe and Hannah Sutcliffe; sons, Kyle Sutcliffe and Jacob (Tia) Sutcliffe; grandkids, Danny Watkins, Zach Watkins, Dylan Sutcliffe, Wyatt Sutcliffe and Leah Sutcliffe; mother, Judi (Boughton) Salava; brothers, Joseph Jr. (Lisa) Salava and Marc (Heidi) Salava; in-laws, Dennis and Donna Sutcliffe; sister-in-law, Sheila (Jonathan) Schultz; brothers-in-law, David (Pam) Sutcliffe, Scott (Sherry) Sutcliffe and Michael Kelley; honorary grandkids, Paige and Logan Hooks; and many very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Salava Sr.; and sister, Judi Ann Kelley.
A Funeral Service will be held at NEW HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 314 Anne St., Mazomanie, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, with Pastor Rob Nelson presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service on Thursday. A luncheon will follow the service at Grandma Mary’s Cafe, 175 US Hwy 14, Arena, Wis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Sally’s name to New Heights Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
